Please Note:
  1. Audiblox services may only be presented by Certified Audiblox Tutors. Tutors must be trained and declared competent by an Audiblox Master Trainer in order to become certified.

  2. Teachers who want to use Audiblox with two or more students at once may either attend a training course or use Schoolblox.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When tutors wish to present Audiblox classes as a service:

When conducting Audiblox classes as a service to schoolchildren, each group must receive a minimum of three lessons per week of one hour each. Up to 15 students may be tutored simultaneously.

The classes are presented on three levels. New enrolees of all ages, excepting pre-schoolers, will start at Level 1. New students can be incorporated into a Level 1 class at any time. There is no need to use a waiting list, or to start a new class to accommodate new students. Once a student has achieved all the requirements for Level 1, he is promoted to Level 2. As soon as he has made sufficient progress on Level 2, he is promoted to Level 3.

The pre-school programme also operates on three levels. A minimum of three classes per week of 20-30 minutes each must be presented. Up to 10 pre-school children may be tutored simultaneously.

When schoolteachers wish to implement Audiblox in their classrooms:

In a formal school setting the whole class is usually taught simultaneously. The teacher will use the School programme, which requires 30 minutes four or (preferably) five times per week. Less time is required for pre-school children.

Equipment:

In order to present Audiblox classes as a fee-for-service, or for a teacher to use Audiblox in the classroom, he/she will need a Persepto. The Persepto is a large, rectangular board, which the Audiblox tutor/teacher puts on a table in front of the class.

Each student needs a learner set and a workbook. Workbooks are not used when Audiblox is presented to pre-school children.

The learner sets are non-consumable, which means that an Audiblox tutor/teacher can use the same learner sets for all her classes year after year.

A Persepto, a set of word cards, 10 learner sets, and 10 workbooks, as well as the book The Right to Read and the Audiblox training manual, are included in the training fee. More learner sets and workbooks can be ordered, if required.

CERTIFICATION TRAINING

Certified Audiblox Tutors are allowed to offer Audiblox group classes as a fee-for-service or they can present Audiblox in a classroom setting. To obtain certification one must attend a training course and be deemed competent by a Master Trainer. The duration of a training course is six days, from 8am - 4pm every day, usually from a Monday to a Saturday, but it may also be spread over six consecutive Saturdays, et cetera.

The objectives of the training course are (1) to give an individual a thorough knowledge and understanding of the theory that underlies the Audiblox programme and (2) to master the group application of the Audiblox programme.

The competence level of course attendants is evaluated on an ongoing basis throughout the week. It is therefore important to set aside some time during the evenings for practice.

On completion of the course, provided that the objectives were met, course attendants are awarded a certificate.
