Success Stories

Dillon Fennell; Year 2; Age 7

He was only four days old when Dillon underwent open-heart surgery and received oxygen in recovery, along with dialysis for kidney failure. As a result he had great difficulty with co-ordination, writing, organisational skills, concentration and reading. An OT report predicted that Dillon would probably not complete his schooling and would more than likely need a scribe to aid him with writing at school.

Dillon started Audiblox in February 2005. According to his mother, Alison, his progress has been slow, but they are huge steps for Dillon, considering his bumpy entry into the world and all the challenges he had to face. "Audiblox has been the only programme that has shown results, and we have tried all sorts of therapies and medication we could find to help our son."

Dillon's progress in reading has been dramatic, says Alison. According to his teacher, Dillon has moved from Level 2 in February 2005 to Level 21 in December 2005, and has improved on the Schonell Spelling Test from 6,6 years in April 2005 to 7,7 years in October 2005. Dillon's handwriting has also improved. (Click here to view a sample.) Dillon now remembers gaps and spacing, and his organisational skills are much improved. Last, but not least, Dillon now shows confidence in doing homework, in social interaction and sports.

"We look forward to seeing even more progress," says Alison.

Debbie; Adult Dyslexic Student

"Since starting Audiblox, I have felt a tremendous increase in my confidence and ability to express myself," says Debbie, an adult dyslexic student and mother of two. "I have actually had people comment that they can see this improvement.

"At work I am able to understand instructions better and able to do an observation and write a report, whereas before I could not," says Debbie. "I can read a child's book and comprehend a little more than before. My reading is more fluent. My spelling is improving.

"Also, I am not battling with my head, to write from right to left so much. Only occasionally now, but not constantly, which makes it not so tiring.

"I am also remembering more."
