to order, and have been reading the audiblox websight. I see a lot of people posting they have seen improvements in memorizing blocks and patterns, BUT for those who have been using it, do you see real gains made in reading? Thinking skills? How do you actually measure improvement in the program (other than being able to memorize more blocks & patterns, etc). I guess I am still just a bit skeptical to see that it Actually works.

My son Zachary has Sensory Integration Disorder and Central Auditory Processing Disorder. He is a 9.5 yo 4th grader. He is using Earobics, Audiblox and Occupational Therapy.

Before we started Audiblox he could read. We videotaped him reading the first chapter of "Rainbow Dreams" to give us a "starting place record." He was unsuccessful with spelling. He was (at the time) using "Spelling Workout" (one of several programs we had used with no success). He could remember the words the week he was spelling them, but two weeks later, could not spell those words. (They were three and four letter words). He was doing poorly in Math, as well. So, in spelling he was BELOW a first grade level. In Math he was at about an end-of-year first grade level. When asked to write a story, using "Pencil Playground", which breaks everything down into very managable parts, he was able to write a very short paragraph, which he had worked on for four weeks.

After ONE week of using Audiblox (25 hours) we had him re-read the same passage of "Rainbow Dreams". We didn't see any difference. We decided to rewind to the first reading and watch them both. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! We did not realize that while he was reading at a 4th-5th grade level, he was VERY TENSE and he would wiggle and move while reading. His jaw was VERY tense. In the new video, he was VERY relaxed and he was sitting still.

After six weeks of Audiblox, I asked Zachary to write a story. I told him I would not help him and that I wasn't worried about spelling. Within a very short time (I want to say 30 minutes) WITH NO HELP OR GUIDANCE he wrote a WONDERFUL one-page story. He spelled most words correctly. Some of the words he spelled correctly had 5 or 6 letters!!! He is currently using a 3/4th grade Math book, with success. He is remembering concepts from one day to the next. I no longer consider him to be LD and I am no longer worried about him, academically. I feel that he will continue with success in his school work.

But, the BEST thing is that he is happier. Using the Audiblox program built up his confidence. It had varied activities that challenged him and yet he could successfully meet the challenge and move forward.

I have posted many times about Audiblox. I want to say using the program is NOT easy. It takes 10 hours of the program to see progress.

Absolutely for the price, I HIGHLY recommend Audiblox.

My twin sons (11yo) have problems with handwriting (in addition to spelling). Does Audiblox help children who have problems with not only the composition aspect of writing but the actual physical act of writing? I saw on their website that it is supposed to address "dysgraphia" (I believe it's called) but I haven't seen anyone comment on that specifically. Would appreciate any input. Thanks!

I have to add to the praise of Audiblox. My 10 y/o has been doing the program since the Fall, and he can now sit through our homeschool co-op classes and actually learn! Before, he was fidgeting, losing his place, unable to focus. His out-loud reading has improved… and he can remember things so much better. I never would have believed this improvement was possible. We are using the customized program... and it's well worth the money. The best system I have found... and we had tried oh, so many!
