Success

I am a 5th grade classroom teacher who started the Audiblox program with my entire class at the beginning of the new school year in September. The students work the program every school day. I had one new student who came in and had severe reading, spelling, and writing (staying on the line) problems. I can tell that there have been improvements in the entire class with the exercises that are done, but haven't noticed a big increase in reading skills except for one student. When he started this year, he was reading at about an early 2nd grade level. (That might even be stretching it.) The past few days he has volunteered to read a few sentences in front of the entire class. These were sentences he had not read before. I was amazed at what he did. There were only a few words he missed, and this was out of our regular 5th grade textbooks. A few of the kids started clapping. What student stated that "D" is reading better. I have never seen a student so proud of himself. What a boost to his confidence! I am excited to see what the future will hold for him. It is moments like this that make me realize why I am an educator.
