Developmental Dyslexia

Developmental dyslexia, or reading disability (RD), is defined as “a disorder manifested by difficulty in learning to read despite conventional instruction, adequate intelligence, and socio-cultural opportunity.” It is relatively common; 5% to 10% of 8- to 10-year-olds have exceptional difficulty in learning to read despite conventional instruction and average IQ.
